SIBU: The state will not ban Sarawakians from travelling to the United Kingdom (UK) despite a series of terrorist attacks in the country.
Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said Sarawak has full confidence in the UK’s security and would not ban Sarawakians from traveling to the country.
“This is what these terrorists want and they would be very happy if we start to avoid the UK as our destination. For us to avoid travelling there would be a victory of sorts to them.
“We have full confidence in the UK’s security service in addressing these terrorists,” Abdul Karim told The Borneo Post yesterday.
Seven people died and 48 were injured, with 21 still in critical condition, in the most recent terrorist attack that took place in London on Saturday night.
