‘Support your children in getting a balanced education’

KUCHING: Parents need to support their children in balancing studies with co-curricular activities

Youth Development Assistant Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said this when officiating at the opening of the Ibnu Khaldun Religious School held its annual school sports day at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Sports Complex recently.

“Children with balanced growth have supportive parents who care about their development. Hence I call all parents to start as early as possible,” said the Asajaya asemblyman.

Abdul Karim pledged a sum of RM7,000 in government grant for the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) to hold more activities.

He advised parents to be active in PTA work.

The ceremony was also attended by Ibnu Khaldun Religious School principal Rosli Terhim and its head of PTA, Mohd Asmadzy Ahmad Basra.
