PPBM intends to split Sarawakians, asserts PBB leader

KUCHING, June 27: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice-president Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah believed Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s (PPBM) intention to expand to Sarawak was to split Sarawakians.

The ultimate aim, he added, was to seize control of the state after dividing its people into small factions.

“It (PPBM) just wants to come over to split us into small fractions. It is here to split the Bumiputera. It does not want to see Sarawakians staying united,” Abdul Karim told DayakDaily today.

He opined that Pakatan Harapan (PH) already had Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Democratic Action Party (DAP) in Sarawak, so there was no necessity for PPBM to come over.

He noted the reason given by PPBM president Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad that it would not go to Sabah because Sabah’s ruling party, Parti Warisan Sabah, was supportive of PH.

“But it already has its coalition partners PKR and DAP, which are both very established here. The two parties have a total of 12 seats, so I find it very puzzling why it (PPBM) still wants to come over to Sarawak.

“I question that part. So, I see it as an attempt to split us even further,” said Abdul Karim.

He emphasised that it was thus important for Sarawakians to understand Sarawak’s politics and be aware of the implications should such political manoeuvres from the peninsula materialise.

“We practise democracy, and we can’t stop any party from coming to Sarawak. I just call on Sarawakians to be on the alert and discerning.”

Dr Mahathir recently announced that PPBM was considering entering Sarawak, but not Sabah. He reasoned that the situation in Sarawak was that all the parties were forming their own coalition after leaving Barisan Nasional.

He said since PKR, DAP and Amanah were already in the state, PPBM would also want to join them. The other reason, he said, was due to requests. — DayakDaily

  1. The Malayan invasion to rob Sarawak of federal & state seats violates & dangerously undermines the concept of “equal partner” countries “forming Malaysia”, therefore, in breach of MA63 treaty terms . The idea was for a start false and intended to delude Sarawakians & Sabahans to accept the UK Malayan neo-colonial federation plan.

The concept of an “equal autonomous regional partner” should have meant that all founding states (Malaya Sabah S’wak & S’pore) have equal number of federal seats as a independent bloc vote and veto power to ensure that no party had a 2/3 majority to freely amend the Federal Constitution. But S’wak got only 24 & Sabah got 16 seats. When S’pore “seceded” for real independence, Malaya cheated by taking all the 15 S’pore seats increasing from 104 in 1963 to 119 in 1965. The seats were further increased in 1973 in favour of Malaya. So the imbalance of power is all in favour of the 11 Malayan states which have acted jointly to oppress the Borneo states and robbed them of their petroleum wealth since 1976.

The Borneo states’ independence of action was further subverted by the “Barisan Nasional” and now Pakatan Harapan alliance as all members have to vote with the mother Malayan federal coalition party. The invasion of Malayan parties was done by deceiving Sarawakians & Sabahans that Malayan parties would be their saviour from UMNO BN. Now that the tables are turned, DAP leaders welcome Mahathir’s racist Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) to come to Sarawak to help oust PBB BN re-branded as Gabungan Parti Sarawak. GPS has not objected to this even it is to its detriment!

This stratagem will eventually lead to Malayan parties directly ruling Sarawak as happened to Sabah. Both on the federal and state level Sarawak will become a real dependent vassal state, that is a colony of Malaya. This may have the effect of terminating MA63.
