Housing prices will keep soaring — Abdul Karim

Housing prices are expected to keep soaring despite the government’s continued efforts to strive for a balance between demand and supply by constructing more affordable houses.

Assistant Minister for Housing Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said a residential unit which is priced at RM100,000 today might be valued at RM1 million 10 years later.

“In the 70s, a single-storey terrace house was available at RM14,000 but now it is priced at or over RM350,000. What happens now is that the demand exceeds the supply,” he said when responding to questions raised by Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi (BN-Pantai Damai) and Ripin Lamat (BN-Lambir) in the august House yesterday.

Karim pointed out that the state government had launched several initiatives to monitor housing prices particularly those of the affordable houses intended for the low-income group.

To ensure that people could own a house, he said ceiling prices had been set for low-cost houses at RM50,400 per intermediate unit and RM59,220 per corner unit.

“For medium-cost houses, we have fixed RM80,000 for intermediate units and RM100,000 for corner lots. In addition, we have also launched projects such as Rumah Mesra Rakyat (RMR), Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR), Rumah Mampu Milik (PMM), MyHome Scheme and Program Perumahan Penjawat Awam 1Malaysia.”

He said the Industralised Building System (IBS) was also encouraged for developing housing projects to bring down the construction costs.

Ceiling prices, govt initiatives to ensure affordable housing

621 buah rumah ungkus murah udah digaga


Kelimpah ari nya perintah BN deka ngaga 68 unit RMM di baruh program PPR di Saratok

KUCHING: Perintah Barisan Nasional (BN) udah ngaga 621 unit Rumah Ungkus Murah di Saratok sereta penyampau nya deka nambah jemah ila.

Menteri Muda Pengawa Berumah Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah madah, opis menteri udah minta piak HDC bejalaika pansik bekaul enggau perambu pemansang pengawa berumah baru jemah ila.

“Naka ke diatu perintah BN udah ngaga 621 unit Rumah Ungkus Murah di Saratok.

“Perintah deka ngaga 68 unit agi Rumah Mampu Milik (RMM) di baruh Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) taun baru.

“Opis Menteri udah ngasuh HDC ngaga pansik silik pasal peminta bekaul enggau rumah di kandang menua Saratok, ke perambu pengawa berumah baru jemah ila,” ku iya.

Karim mansutka pekara nya lebuh ti nyaut tanya ari Ali Biju (PKR – Krian) maya sesi saut tanya nyerumba Aum Kunsil Negeri ditu, kemari, pasal perambu pemansang pengawa berumah di kandang menua Saratok.

Kelimpah ari Karim madahka orang ti ulih meli Rumah Ungkus Murah enggau RMM nengah PPR patut peranak Malaysia ti diau di Sarawak, penatai pemisi kasar ruang bilik RM650 ngagai RM3,000, umur 18 ngagai 65 taun enggau kebukai.

500 unit rumah teres di Taman Gong belum diduduki


ASAJAYA: Terletak jauh dari pusat bandar menyebabkan sejumlah 500 unit rumah teres di Taman Gong, Kilometer 30 Jalan Kuching-Serian masih belum diduduki.

Menteri Muda Perumahan Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah berkata, taman perumahan di bawah Skim Rancangan Perumahan Rakyat (RPR) itu tidak mempunyai masalah struktur atau sewa tinggi.

Permasalahan yang timbul menurutnya adalah sikap pemohon yang ditawarkan enggan berpindah ke kawasan pinggir bandar menyebabkan rumah-rumah terbabit kosong walaupun telah siap dua tahun lepas.

“Di bawah skim ini (RPR), pemohon dari kawasan setinggan diberi keutamaan untuk mendapatkan rumah.

“Namun setelah ditawarkan, mereka menolak atas alasan kediaman jauh dari tempat kerja,” katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian kepada pemberita selepas pengagihan daging korban kepada 423 orang di sini, semalam.

Menurut Karim, pemohon hanya dikehendaki membayar sewa sebanyak RM150 sebulan.

Kapit nadai dalam lis RPR ungkup raban petengan


KUCHING: Bagi menua Kapit naka ke diatu bedau dirintaika dalam lis endur ngaga Rancangan Perumahan Rakyat (RPR)ungkup raban orang petengan.

Taja pia menua Kapit bisi dalam rintai lis endur ngaga Rumah Mesra Rakyat (RMR) lebuh Opis Menteri Pengawa Berumah nengah Opis Pemansang Pengawa Berumah (PPP) deka ngaga 22 unit dalam taun tu.

Pekara tu dipansutka Menteri Muda Pengawa Berumah Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah ba hari kedua Aum Kunsil Nengeri (DUN) Ke-17.

Ungkup pelilih Mit Menua Song, Karim madah naka ke diatu PPP udah nembuka 28 unit Rumah Ulih Diempu (RMM) ba Jalai Takan, pasar Song.

Iya madahka, 83 buah agi RMM deka digaga enti sema belanja ungkup projek nya dikemendarka.
