MIRI: Sarawak will constantly stand by youths to support their activities for the ‘Paint the World’ programme.
Assistant Minister of Social Development (Youth) Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah assured the government would provide all the necessary assistance.
“I hope the ‘Paint The World’ team members will continue to be (in high) spirits in their mission to bring youths together for charity and to make a difference in the lives of the unfortunate,” said Abdul Karim at the launch of the ‘Paint The World’ concert at Miri Indoor Stadium yesterday.
Over 600 youths from various organisations, dressed in colourful T-shirts, were present.
‘Paint The World’ local initiator, Aziza Anizan, mayor Lawrence Lai and representatives from Resident Office were also there.
‘Paint The World’ is an international programme introduced locally to gather youths to work together to bring cheers to the less fortunate.
Through their participation, youths can exchange ideas and opinions with one another on how to serve the unfortunate and give back to society.
It is a charitable programme aimed at uniting youths in their mission to change the world for the betterment of the underprivileged and those in need.
The event was organised by the ‘Paint The World’ team and supported by the Ministry of Social Development in collaboration with Miri City Council (MCC), Resident Office and the Welfare Department.
Meanwhile, ‘Paint The World’ president Clinton Jerome Chua said they would consider holding the event annually to pull in more participation.
