KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah described the late Cobbold John Lusoi as a true Sarawakian.
“Though we are in different turf of politics, I find him very passionate in his struggle for Sarawak and Iban (community), and he was a nice guy,” the Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports said yesterday, while expressing his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family.
Cobbold, the president of Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB), passed away yesterday morning at his residence in Kuala Lumpur due to heart failure.
Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak vice chairman Boniface Willy Tumek said the demise of Cobbold will be missed in the fight for the recognition of ‘pemakai menoa and pulau galau (PMPG)’.
“In the fight for PMPG, his (Cobbold) absence will be missed because he had been quite vocal and consistent in his struggle for fair and equitable treatment of the Dayaks in general, and in the fight for recognition of PMPG in particular,” Willy, who is PKR Mas Gading branch chairman, said. -TheBorneoPost
