A lot of our folks had waited for the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah who had visited the Fort Margherita, the towering flagpole and the Tea House at Dataran Ibu Pertiwi in Petra Jaya yesterday.
His Royal Highness Tengku Hassanal arrived at Fort Margherita at past 4 pm and was welcomed by our Right Honourable Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Haji Openg, Deputy Minister, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and local dignitaries.
What had surprised our royal guest was the large crowd who had waited hours for him at the Kuching Waterfront which was the next place to visit in yesterday's itinerary. We were fortunate fine weather was on our side and those who were present took the opportunity to take photographs with the royal guest.
