PETRA JAYA: The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd (NSTP) senior management team paid a courtesy call on Sarawak Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah yesterday.
Leading the entourage from NSTP was its chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Jalil Hamid, who was accompanied by group editor-in-chief Datuk Yushaimi Yahaya, and Media Prima Labs general manager Nicholas Sagau.
They spent an hour with Karim, who shared his plans on accelerating growth in the tourism industry, at the latter's office at Bangunan Baitulmakmur here.
This year, the ministry is targeting 5.2 million tourist arrivals with estimated tourism receipts of RM9.82 million.
The group also paid a courtesy call on newly-appointed Regional Corridor Development Authority (Recoda) chief executive officer Datuk Ismawi Ismuni yesterday.
Ismawi, who was the deputy state secretary, replaced Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot.
