Ministry holds farewell dinner for Ik Pahon

KUCHING: The Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Ministry hosted a dinner to say goodbye to the ministry’s outgoing permanent secretary Datu Ik Pahon Joyik on Wednesday.

The minister, in his speech at the dinner, praised Ik Pahon for his work with the ministry, describing him as a person who has vast experience and will certainly do a great job as permanent secretary of another ministry.

“Ik Pahon has been dedicated in serving this ministry. 

"I believe that everyone in this ministry has felt comfortable working with him,” said Abdul Karim as reported by The Borneo Post today.

Meanwhile Ik Pahon, when delivering his speech, extended his thanks to the staff of the ministry for their cooperation during the eight years he was with the ministry, which made it possible for the ministry to perform well.

In appreciation of his service, he received a memento from Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah during the event.

Ik Pahon is now the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development.

Former Sibu Resident Hii Chang Kee is now the Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Ministry new permanent secretary.

Also present during the dinner were Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Lee Kim Shin and Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Snowdan Lawan. -@ybkarimsays
