KUCHING: The young generations nowadays need to be instilled with the religious value which is able to act as a safeguard from the globalisation threat which has increasingly spread in the community.
Assistant Minister of Youth Development Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the young generations as future leaders need to equip themselves with positive values.
“All these positive values will be able to determine the excellence of Malaysia to a step forward and become role model to the others,” said Karim.
He said this in his speech when officiating at the State Level Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony 2013 for the Rakan Muda held at Surau Bandarsah, here recently.
He said, Muslims should take the opportunity in conjunction with the month of Ramadan to create positive members of young generation and to become pure Muslims by making the Prophet Muhammad as an example.
He also stressed all of us should be together in a way to make this into reality.
Speaking about the Rakan Muda programme, Karim said that the programme which included religious activities would able to give positive effect to the youth especially when it involved the learning the Quran.
The youth, he said, should take the opportunity to instil quality knowledge from the programme and practise all the positive values in their daily live.
In the programme, 110 mosques and suraus from throughout the state participated in the programme which involved 2,200 youth.
Also present at the ceremony were the State Director of Youth and Sports Department Haji Abdul Haris Ishak and the chairman of Surau Bandarsah committee Naz Ismadi Khalit.
