Getting excited with the inaugural Sarawak International Band & Orchestra Festival 2024 (SIBO2024)

• Kuching City will be in the limelight again when the inaugural Sarawak International Band & Orchestra Festival (SIBOFest) 2024 is on from 17 to 19 September at Lodge Secondary School while the grand finale takes centre stage on September 20 at The Waterfront Hotel Kuching. 
• The event is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP) under the "Dana Mudahcara Warisan Kesenian & Kebudayaan Sarawak".
• We welcome the organising of the 4-day music festival because it serves as a platform that brings together youth wind bands, orchestras, industry experts, educators, and musicians from across Malaysia and beyond. 
• The event had also attracted over 200 participants and over 15 tutors from all across Malaysia, Singapore and Japan, including 60 participants from one of the top high school bands in Japan namely the Aikodai Meiden High School Symphonic Band.

• We support the theme of the event which is  "Music, Culture, and Friendshi" that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this festival and reflecting our commitment to not only fostering musical excellence but also promoting cultural appreciation and forming lifelong bonds through music.
• This theme reflects Sarawak’s long-standing tradition of cultural harmony and diversity and will be amplified through this event by showing that music transcends boundaries and brings people together, fostering a sense of community both within Sarawak and internationally.
• We are optimistic for the festival to provide significant economic benefits by attracting tourists, promoting local businesses, and enhancing Sarawak's reputation as a cultural destination on the international stage.
