Encouraging response to Lundu’s leg of Jelajah Belia Sarawak 2020 program

It is heartening for me to see over 1,000 people including the youths from #Lundu #Sematan #TelokMelano and even #Kuching had came together to the official opening of “Jelajah Belia Sarawak 2020” which was held at Lundu’s Sports Complex this morning. The event in Lundu is the 9th leg of the program and we thank the local folks led by YB Datuk Amar Hajah Jamilah Anu who were kind enough to become the host.
During my speech, I called on all members of the community to work together in the efforts to mould our youths to become successful leaders of the future and we need to groom them to become the most suitable candidates. Similarly, in order to have a good pool of future leaders of the state, Sarawak must look at the youth today.
Hence, I called all parties to play their role in guiding our youths so that they would not end up being problematic or with no direction. I called on the elders especially parents, people's representatives and all leaders to engage with the youths and lead them on track because iIf we fail to do so, the country will eventually fal.
Of course every parent would love for the children to be successful but the measure of their success must not measured by cash or enrolment to university. There are so many technical colleges and institutions and there are those who did not go to the university but they can still become successful. That is why patience and perseverance are important while our youths must have a target and direction in life. If they are able to achieve their target or slightly close to it, they  will feel content, and that is also a form of success.
In my parting words, I called on the youths to stay focus on what they are interested in while their skills and talents by going to a technical college and upon graduation, our youths can become skilled person who can also contribute meaningfully to the nation.
