Chinese community reminded on vital role

ASAJAYA: Chinese voters in Kota Samarahan play an important role in ensuring victory for Barisan National (BN) in the upcoming 13th General Election.

“Chinese voters, even if they only make up 10 per cent of the voters here, are important to us in ensuring victory for BN,” said Asajaya assemblyman Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

On who would be the candidate for the seat, he said the person would be a local.

He was speaking at the Asajaya district level Chinese New Year dinner held on Saturday at SJK Chung Hua Asajaya.

At the same time, he urged voters in Kota Samarahan to come out to vote during polling day to ensure continued stability and development.

The assistant housing minister also called on the community to preserve the prevailing harmony and unity.

Later, he gave a personal contribution of RM50,000 to SJK Chung Hua Asajaya to top up its building fund which is short by RM250,000.
