Good to be back and my comments on new wing for youths aged 18 to 28 in Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB)

It is good to be back and like the rest, we are looking forward to 2022 with much zest and enthusiasm. Recently I have put my good words on the proposed formation of a new wing for youth aged 18 to 28 by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) that may yield positive outcomes in upcoming 15th General Election (GE15) which will be held in 2023 or earlier.

As vice president of PBB, the landslide victory by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in our recent 12th State Elections (PRN12) had shown the outcomes of the collective hard work by all component parties. In forward, PBB’s decision to establish the new wing is good strategy to reach out to young voters who will strengthen our party's position in the present political climate.

The all-round support on recent move by PBB in setting up a new wing for those aged 18 to 28 will augur well in our continuous efforts to provide opportunities for our young folks to be politically mature in deciding their future. Such move is also timely because it is important for us to ensure our future generation of politicians and leaders are keeping up with the latest political developments in Sarawak and in the country.

Hence, PBB is making the necessary steps right now in order to stay relevant among all strata of the society including the members from different age groups. The Undi18 constitutional amendments had also shown us that participation of young people in the local political scene is welcomed and its implementation supports PBB’s leadership talent grooming and development agenda. I have also asserted that PBB under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg had planned the setting up of the new wing as the way forward in addressing the need and concerns of young folks in the 18 to 28 age group. We fully support Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari's announcement on January 9 that PBB will be setting up a new wing for those 18 to 28 years old. The new wing will be officially formed during the party’s upcoming triennial general meeting (TGM) which will be held in June this year.
