Karim: Is DAP trying to hoodwink the Dayaks again?

“It’s better for DAP to name their proposed CM candidate for us to evaluate his or her capability.” Tuan Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah

SIBU: State BN secretary-general Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi says what the DAP have promised to offer the Dayaks can be described as political gimmick.

“It is an open knowledge that they are trying to get the Dayaks’ support to be in power through their ‘Impian Sarawak’, and their so-called go-rural drive and so on.

“Based on past and current practices, there is no hint at all about ‘Dayaks at heart’ in DAP but merely politicking…don’t forget that majority rules.

“So in the case of DAP … stop misleading the Dayaks into believing your tricks,” Dr Rundi, who is Assistant Minister of Public Utilities (Electricity and Telecommunications), said.

He was asked to comment on state DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen’s statement reiterating their stand on nominating a Dayak for chief minister if Pakatan Rakyat (PR) came to power in the next state election.

PBB supreme council member Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, on the other hand, said it was easy to ‘hang carrots’ and give sky-high promises.

“It’s better for DAP to name their proposed CM candidate for us to evaluate his or her capability,” he said, adding that they would not want someone who was half past six or pulled by the nose by DAP to be CM.

“On the other hand, can DAP even win a bumi seat in the next election?” asked Abdul Karim, who is Assistant Minister of Youth Development and Asajaya assemblyman.

He added that this was a chauvinist party that’s only fighting for the interest of Chinese in Sarawak.

He thus expressed puzzle over DAP’s sudden change of direction.

“Why the sudden shift? On another note, why is DAP advocating racialism in wanting only Dayak as CM and not based on merit for such an important post? “It stinks and I smell something fishy.

Are they trying to hoodwink the Dayaks?” -TheBorneoPost
