Exciting finale of this year's Le Tour De Langkawi race held in Bintulu on October 6

It was a pleasure for me to have attended the closing and prize presentation ceremony of the recent Le Tour De Langkawi 2024 which was held at Bintulu over the weekend. I was there as the representative of our right honourable Premier of Sarawak and was privileged to hand over the champion’s trophy to the overall winner. Also present during the ceremony was the honourable Puan Hannah Yeoh, our Federal Minister of Youth and Sports together with local dignitaries.

Our gratitude to the organisers and Federal's Ministry of Youth and Sports for bringing the prestigious event to Miri and Bintulu as part of the final legs of the race. The event was highly anticipated by our local folks especially cycling enthusiasts who had witnessed the international teams competing for the bragging rights of this year's edition.

The publicity and promotion for the professional cycling race had boosted Sarawak's image among the participating teams including those which had fans all over the world including in Malaysia.

With successful staging of the 21st edition of PARA Sukma and Malaysia Games 2024 (SUKMA2024), Sarawak had shown its capabilities and readiness to host bigger sporting events which will be the 2027 Southeast Asia Games (ASEAN Games 2027) and ASEAN PARA Games (APG) 2027.
